Melissa Anderson began studying the art of photography in 2012, wanting to capture beautiful images of her children as they grew. After taking numerous classes and workshops, her interests grew to include landscapes, seascapes, portraits and lifestyle images which document people in their most comfortable and intimate surroundings.

Melissa’s first love has always been music. She began playing the piano at age 4, and at 8 years old began studying the harp. She continued playing the harp into college at Boston University where she earned her Bachelors in Harp Performance, and enjoyed a professional career in New England, Virginia and Chicago. Her harp performances led her to play in various countries and even to the Miss America stage as Miss Massachusetts 1991.

Melissa currently lives in Warrenville, Illinois with her husband and 2 younger children. Her oldest is a student at Ohio State University. She teaches K-12 music at Naperville Christian Academy.

Ferry Creek Photography was conceived after the Anderson’s moved from Naperville to Warrenville and purchased a 7 acre horse farm in 2016. The beautiful, tranquil property is divided in to two sections by lovely Ferry Creek.
